How to unlock or jailbreak iphone 2g to os 3.0 using redsn0w

In this tutorial you will learn how to jailbreak iphone 2G to os 3.0 using redsn0w in windows or mac.Iphone 2G doesnt have mms and tethering in it while iphone O.S 3.0 has it all.Hence most of us like O.S 3.0.But iphone 2G do not have this functions even when it runs 3.0.Before you start jailbreaking your iphone make sure you have upgraded to itunes 8.2.

First download all the needed files before unlock or jailbreaking your iphone.We don’t need to update the baseband in iphone 2G.So have a free play.Before starting update your iphone to OS 3.0.

1.Create a folder in your desktop on any name. for eg “sensehow”.Now paste all the files you have downloaded previously into that folder sensehow.
2.Now connect your iphone to the pc and launch redsn0w from “sensehow” folder.Now in the window that opens click browse to navigate to the “sensehow”folder on your pc’s desktop and select the 3.0 firmware ipsw.

3.Next you have to click the open button to continue.

4.In the next screen you will have two options.One is to unlock and the other is to jailbreak.If you want to unlock and jailbreak then select both options or else select install cydia for jailbreak and unlock for only unlocking.

5.Note:If you have not selected unlock option skip to the next step.If you have selected then bootloader window will appear.Now you have to select the bootloader files.Click the browse option in bootloader screen and select 3.9 bootloader from “sensehow” folder in your desktop.Similarly choose 4.6 for the other.Then click the blue arrow to continue.

6.Now switch off your iphone without plugging out from the usb port.After you do that,click next to proceed.The next is to put your iphone to DFU mode.

7.To enable DFU mode hold the power button for about 3 secs and then hold both home and power button for about 10 secs,then release the power button but continue holding the home button until your iphone is in DFU mode.
